One Thing

Exploration #10
Choose an everyday object. This can be something you find on the street or something you have. Look at the top half of the object for fifteen minutes. Record everything you see there in detail. Then do the same for the bottom half. The longer you look the more you will see.

“If something is boring after two minutes, try it for four. If still boring, then eight. Then sixteen. Then thirty-two. Eventually one discovers that it is not boring at all.”
-John Cage

I made 3 decent connections:

The rings that represent life kind of like a tree and the statement "allow events to change you" both involve growth.

The quote "Don't clean your desk" because if I had, the tape would have been less dirty and less interesting.

"amber waves of children" and that creepy bump are similar in form.

  1. how great, the idea that tape is a way to record time. tape collects things, things stick to it. like the rings in the tree. good job sam.

  2. Sam I really like how you made the reference about the rings of a tree and then I thought of the topic La'fur did which was portals and how they represent time passing also. Connections! Connections! OK BYE!
